Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 on the 28th of October, 1967 in Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta starting with her great-grandfather who was a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Early in his life the father of her mother became obsessed by theater. While he was a student studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he was a part of numerous productions. While stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was inducted into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. They got married in 2005, and welcomed their first child, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University at New Orleans, Louisiana in 1957 after they had separated from the US Air Force. Walter was hired to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the show Bum Bum and His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. The year 1964 was when Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television show known as Bum Bum and His Buddies that they funded their own. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted six years. In 1965, they welcomed two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
