KellyKelly Clarkson in her full Kelly Brianne Clarkson was an American singer and songwriter who became famous after she was the winner of American Idol's 2002 talent competition. Clarkson was born in Burleson (Texas) which is an area in the vicinity of Fort Worth. Her vocal talents were recognized when she was just seven years old from the head of the choir department at the school she attended. Upon finishing high school, Clarkson made the move to Los Angeles, where she unsuccessfully tried to break into show business. When she returned in Texas in 2002, she competed on the FOX Broadcasting Company's American Idol. This singing competition gave viewers the chance to vote on their favorite performer. People were impressed by Clarkson's captivating personality, voice, and sense of humour. Clarkson's prize for winning the contest was $1 million, as well as an agreement to record with RCA.
