Sylvester was left paralysed in the lower left corner of his face due to complications during birth. He now has his famous "snarling" expression, and a slightly high pitched voice. Stallone spent part of his early years in foster care because of the volatile relationship between parents and children. The couple divorced later. Stallone studied drama at the American College in Switzerland before going to the University of Miami. The actor left Miami before completing his degree and moved to New York City to pursue acting as a profession.
