
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; 2 September 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. In Mexico she started her professional career in the role of Teresa in the Telenovela (1989-1991) as well as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) in which she received an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's role as Frida the painter in Frida (2002) in which she also produced was what made Hayek the first Mexican actor to win the Academy Award [6]. The film also brought her an Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination and British Academy Film Award nominations.
